The completion of this acquisition is expected to occur by the end of 2023 and is subject to customary regulatory approvals and closing conditions. All existing JL Audio products will continue to be supported post-closing, and customers can expect to continue receiving the same great customer service.

JL Audio was founded in 1975 by James Birch and Lucio Proni. They used the first letter of each of their names, to form a company name, hence "JL." Their first products were home speaker systems as well as home speaker kits.

JL Audio is a smaller company that manufactures automotive and Marine speaker systems and high performance powered sub woofers. JBL is a part of Harman International which is itself now a part of Samsung. JBL manufactures a wide variety of speakers and electronics for residential, commercial and pro audio applications.
